MACULAR DEGENERATION MANAGEMENT
Macular degeneration is a common condition of Americans over the age of 65. The macula is the central part of the retina and is responsible for the fine vision that is relied upon heavily for reading, driving and facial recognition.
When the macula deteriorates as a result of cell death alone, the diagnosis is "atrophic" or dry macular degeneration. When deterioration is compounded by the abnormal development of fragile leaking new blood vessels, "exudative" or wet macular degeneration is present.
Laser treatment is sometimes very helpful for wet macular degeneration. OptiCare is equipped with all of the diagnostic and treatment methods that have been scientifically proven to be beneficial for patients with macular degeneration.
