LASER VISION CORRECTION/LASIK

LASIK is the most commonly performed refractive surgery procedure. LASIK has advantages over other refractive procedures, including a relative lack of pain afterward and the fact that good vision is usually achieved by the very next day. At OptiCare we are fortunate to offer the skill and knowledge of our two laser vision correction specialists, Vincent P. deLuise, M.D. and Kenneth A. Greenberg, M.D. Both of these fellowship-trained subspecialists are also corneal specialists and are considered leaders in the field.

An instrument called a microkeratome may be used in LASIK eye surgery to create a thin, circular flap in the cornea. Another, newer way of making the flap is with the laser itself.

The CustomVue laser uses a cool ultraviolet light beam to precisely reshape the cornea, allowing it to better focus light into the eye and onto the retina and to provide clearer vision than before.
